SPECIAL MESSAGE TO MEMBERS OF THE MEDIA

The Little Sisters of the Poor are celebrating the canonization of their foundress, Jeanne Jugan. St. Jeanne, a saint for “old age and every age,” will be elevated by Pope Benedict XVI at a canonization service at St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City on Oct. 11, 2009.

Thousands of Little Sisters, their friends and those whom they serve will participate in the celebration in Rome. Also, each of the 30 homes for the elderly in the United States will host local celebrations.
