Together with Catholics around the world, and many people of other faiths who admired him, we look forward with great anticipation to the Beatification of Pope John Paul II on May 1, 2011. John Paul II was a great champion of the dignity of human life, and he was a friend and brother to the elderly. To help prepare for his Beatification, we will be running a daily blog, “30 Days with John Paul II,” throughout the month of April. Each day will offer a thought on the elderly taken from the late Pope’s speeches or writings, and, we hope, remembrances of Pope John Paul as recounted by our Residents, Little Sisters and friends.
