St Joseph's Home
Palatine, Illinois

The Little Sisters of the Poor have served the elderly of the greater Chicago area and beyond for over 130 years and specifically in Palatine since 1965.  We are located on Northwest Highway in Palatine.

The large white building is set back off the highway on 16 acres of land with a lake, beautiful trees and well kept landscaping and devotional shrines.  As you enter the building you will feel the atmosphere of a close-knit family working together to bring happiness to the 100 elderly Residents whom they serve.

The Little Sisters and staff encourage independence, preserve dignity and respect for life, respect individuality, nurture spirit and involve family and friends.

Four levels of care are available at St. Joseph's Home:

Apartment Living is offered to the needy elderly who are still able to live independently, while profiting of the religious and social activities offered by the Home.

Residential Careor sheltered care is for the ambulatory senior who desires minimal assistance while still being able to perform basic tasks of daily personal care independently.

Intermediate Care is for those who need assistance with the basic tasks of everyday living and some nursing care.

Skilled Care is for those Residents who need complete nursing care and assistance with most or all daily needs.  (We do not usually accept applications for this level of care, since these rooms are reserved for current Residents who become ill or infirm).
